Alia Bhatt shared a heartfelt reaction to Daadi Ki Shaadi on Friday and praised both Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni for their performances in the family entertainer.

Soon after watching the film, Alia posted a picture with Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima on Instagram and described the movie as emotional, funny and full of family madness. She said the story left her smiling and praised the chemistry and screen presence of both actors.

Her social media post quickly drew attention from fans of the Kapoor family, especially because the film marks Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s Bollywood debut. While Riddhima has remained active in the fashion and jewellery world for years, she stayed away from films despite belonging to one of Hindi cinema’s most famous families.

Now, with Daadi Ki Shaadi, she has stepped into acting alongside her mother Neetu Kapoor.

Across Mumbai cinemas on Friday evening, audiences discussed the unusual mother-daughter pairing and the film’s light-hearted family setting. Several viewers who exited theatres described the film as a clean family watch filled with comic misunderstandings, emotional moments and loud household drama.

Inside fan circles, many also compared Riddhima’s screen debut with the Kapoor family’s long connection to Bollywood. Social media users shared clips, posters and reactions through the day, while Kapoor family supporters welcomed another member into the film industry.

Earlier this week, Aamir Khan also praised the film after attending a special screening. He reportedly appreciated the emotional balance in the story and complimented Riddhima’s performance in her first major acting role.

Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film features Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, R. Sarathkumar, Teju Kolhapure and Deepak Dutta in important roles.

The film opened to mixed critical reviews. While some reviewers praised its emotional warmth and humour, others felt the screenplay relied heavily on predictable family-comedy tropes. Even so, the performances of Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima emerged as one of the most discussed aspects of the movie.

For Neetu Kapoor, the project adds another chapter to her return to films in recent years. After facing personal loss following the death of Rishi Kapoor, she gradually returned to public life and cinema with family-oriented projects and television appearances.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt continues to balance family support with a packed professional schedule. The actor now prepares for the release of Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail. The action drama also stars Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor and will arrive in theatres on July 10.

However, Alia’s glowing review has added fresh buzz around Daadi Ki Shaadi and brought extra attention to Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s first step into Bollywood.
