CBSE re-evaluation portal faces fresh glitches, leaving students waiting during admission season
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again come under scrutiny after students reported technical issues on the Class 12 re-evaluation and verification portal shortly after its launch. The latest setback arrived days after the board revised the activation schedule and assured students that the system would function smoothly from June 1.
Students across the country attempted to access the portal soon after CBSE announced that post-result services had become available. However, many users reported that the website stopped responding after they entered their credentials. Several candidates said the screen froze during the login process, preventing them from moving forward with verification and re-evaluation requests.
The fresh complaints triggered frustration among students and parents who had already waited through multiple schedule changes. CBSE originally planned to open the portal on May 29. Later, officials shifted the launch date and informed students that services would begin on June 1. The board also shared updates through its official communication channels in the days leading up to the launch.
Despite those assurances, technical problems surfaced again within hours of activation. As a result, thousands of students found themselves unable to complete important post-result procedures.
The issue carries significance because a large number of candidates seek verification of marks, photocopies of evaluated answer sheets and re-evaluation every year. This year, expectations suggest that more than four lakh students could use these services. Education experts believe that the volume may increase further because of growing awareness about answer-sheet review options.
The discussion around CBSE’s On-Screen Marking system has also contributed to heightened interest in the review process. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently indicated that a notable share of students who inspect their evaluated answer books may choose to challenge their results through verification or re-evaluation requests.
If those estimates prove accurate, CBSE could receive tens of thousands of applications in the coming weeks. Such numbers would make this one of the largest review exercises in the board’s recent history.
Meanwhile, technical complaints have continued to emerge since the declaration of Class 12 results. Students and parents have frequently highlighted difficulties involving payment processing, duplicate fee deductions, missing transaction receipts and account access issues. Some candidates also raised concerns about the quality of scanned answer-sheet copies. According to several students, certain documents appeared unclear or incomplete, making proper review difficult.
On the ground, uncertainty has started affecting admission plans. Many students depend on the re-evaluation process to secure higher marks before college admission deadlines and counselling rounds begin. Every delay increases pressure on candidates who must finalize academic choices within fixed timelines.
Parents have also expressed concern about the lack of clarity regarding future access. Many families continue to monitor updates while students repeatedly attempt to log in and complete their applications.
For now, candidates remain in a waiting phase. The portal’s repeated disruptions have raised questions about preparedness at a time when thousands of students require timely support. As admission activities gather pace across universities and colleges, students hope for a stable system that allows them to complete the review process without further obstacles.
CBSE has not announced any new extension or revised schedule beyond the latest activation date. Until additional updates arrive, many students continue to face uncertainty while trying to secure a fair and timely review of their examination results.
