Vande Bharat Mission: Air India flight departs from Sydney on Monday
New Delhi, Aug 10 (HS) Air India’s special flight, under the Vande Bharat Mission departed from Sydney Airport with stranded Indian nationals due to Corona, on Monday.
Consulate General of India, Sydney tweeted on Monday, “#VandeBharatMission continues to bring home stranded Indian Nationals. It has facilitated travel of over a million stranded Indian nationals so far!! Another Special flight, AI 301 Sydney-Delhi sector left Sydney airport today. Thank you @dfat @airindiain @MEAIndia and @MoCA_GoI”
It is worth mentioning that earlier Indian Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had tweeted that on Sunday, 6000 Indians from across the world returned to India under the Vande Bharat Mission.
The Government of India had started the Vande Bharat Mission in the month of May, under which the stranded Indian nationals were brought back home as the restrictions were imposed because of the pandemic.
