CBI probe against former J&K minister is act of political vendetta: JKNPP
Jammu, June 26 (HS) Referring to the initiation of CBI probe against Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan (DSS) and Ch. Lal Singh, JKNPP-Chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh described the move as a good action which however originated from a bad intent. He said that Ch. Lal Singh was admittedly in possession of the land in question for the last several years and the said construction was also raised by him long back with a school, college and a nursing institute having been operationalized between 2009-12 as reported.
“If the then Congress-NC govt sheltered the accused, then why the BJP govt did not took any action against him after its ascendance to power in 2014? Why did it give the party mandate to Lal Singh? Why did it elevated Ch. Lal Singh as Minister? And why did it waited for six long years to hold a probe against him if he had encroached the said State and Forest lands and raised illegal constructions thereupon,” he said describing the BJP govt’s move as an act of political vendetta.
Earlier last year, the shopping complex of Lal Singh and his brother was demolished which marked the beginning of political witch-hunting and politics of vengeance by the ruling party. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
