Shiv Sena protests against scholarship scheme for children of terrorists
Jammu, June 26 (HS) Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray, Jammu and Kashmir unit leaders, demanded immediate cancellation of schemes to give scholarships to the children of terrorists. Party state president Manish Sahni said that more than 10 months have passed since Section 370 was removed, but no major changes were seen in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni, while taking a tough stance on the scheme of giving scholarship to the children of terrorists, questioned, how can the government distribute the hard earned money of the public among the children of terrorists. If BJP leaders and honorable Lt. Governor have so much sympathy with these children, they should adopt these children, he said. He said that the security personnel deployed in Kashmir lost their lives in efforts to free Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism. But continuing the scholarship scheme for the children of terrorists is like encouraging terrorism. Sahni alleged that for the last 73 years, the attitude of all governments in the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir has been to “take from Jammu and give to Kashmir”.
