BJP chief Nadda attacks Sonia Gandhi on transparency
New Delhi, June 26 (HS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Friday slammed the Congress party over the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) saying that the party had transferred the public money to a family organization.
Nadda said that the money was needed to help the poor people but the Congress party transferred it to a family’s private organization which was a cheating with the people of the country. “And today Congress is questioning the intention of the Modi government regarding the audit of PM Cares Fund,” JP Nadda said.
JP Nadda tweeted, “The PMNRF, meant to help people in distress, was donating money to Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) in UPA years. Who sat on the PMNRF board? Smt Sonia Gandhi. Who chairs RGF? Smt Sonia Gandhi. Totally reprehensible, disregarding ethics, processes and not bothering about transparency.”
The BJP president said that the people of India had donated their hard earned money to the PMNRF to help their fellow citizens in their time of need. To divert this public money into a family run foundation is not only a brazen fraud but also a big betrayal of the people of India.
Earlier on Thursday, on the 45th anniversary of the Emergency, BJP President JP Nadda accused the Congress of imposing Emergency on the country for selfish politics. The country was turned into a prison by congress party for vested interests.
