PM to launch Rzgar Abhiyaan in Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi, 25 June (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch self-reliant Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Abhiyan through video-conference in the presence of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Ministers of respective Ministries of the state will also participate in the virtual launch of the scheme.
The Prime Minister will also communicate with the villagers of 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Following the criteria of maintaining social distance in the wake of the Covid-19 spread, people from villages in all selected districts will participate in the program through Common Service Centers and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
About 30 lakh migrant workers have returned to their respective homes in Uttar Pradesh. More than 25,000 migrant workers have reached home in 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These include five aspirational districts.
Under this campaign the unemployed migrants and villagers would be assisted in opening their projects that will generate employment, promote local entrepreneurship.
Earlier, the Prime Minister launched the ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan’ on June 20 for employment generation with special emphasis on creating infrastructure facilities in backward regions of the country. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a very adverse effect on general workers, especially migrant workers.
In such a situation, the government has announced a self-sufficient India package to give a new impetus to development in various sectors.
