Nine killed, 10 injured in coal mine accident in China
Beijing,June 10 (HS) :In China, nine people have been killed and ten others injured in a coal mine accident in Jilin province.The coal mine is operated by Longjiapu Mining Co, a subsidiary of state-backed Liaoyuan Mining Group, and has an annual capacity of 3 million tonnes.The workers were trapped in a shaft after the tremor jolted the coal mine under the management of Jilin Longjiabao Mining Co in Jiutai city in Changchun New Area.
The injured workers are receiving treatment in the nearby hospital and face no life-threatening injuries.An emergency response has been activated and work teams have been dispatched to assist rescue work.The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
