Rahul Gandhi questions PM Modi’s ‘silence’ on India-China face-off
New Delhi, June 17 (HS) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday again criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ongoing standoff at Ladakh region between India and China. He asked PM to speak up and questioned what he called was the Prime Minister’s ‘silence’ on the killing of 20 soldiers in the Gulwan valley. Rahul said that PM cannot hide the issue and the nation wants to know the exact situation on border.
In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi has said, “Why is the PM silent? Why is he hiding? Enough is enough. We need to know what has happened. How dare China kill our soldiers? How dare they take our land?”
Earlier, Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram too questioned the ‘silence’ of PM Modi and tweeted, “The PM has maintained a worrying silence since May 5. Can you imagine any other head of the government not saying a word for seven weeks since the intrusion of foreign troops into a country?”
This is not the first time when Rahul Gandhi has questioned the Prime Minister on the Ladakh standoff. On Jun 10 he tweeted, “The Chinese have walked in and taken our territory in Ladakh. Meanwhile, the PM is absolutely silent and has vanished from the scene.”
Rahul’s reaction came after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a violent clash with Chinese People”s Liberation Army at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Monday night.
