Bengal has leadership potential: Prime Minister

Kolkata, June 11 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 95th Annual Plenary session of the Indian Chamber of Commerce via video conferencing on Thursday. He said, we have to revive the historical excellence of Bengal in the manufacturing sector. He called for development of the east and north east India, and said that Kolkata had the potential to lead the entire region. He said, ” we have always heard ‘what Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow. We have to take inspiration from this and move forward together.”

The Prime Minister said that the jute industry will be strengthened in West Bengal and clusters will be opened for bamboo and organic products. Similarly, Sikkim can become a hub for organic farming. The east and north east India can become the biggest beneficiary of reforms in the agricultural sector. ICC will celebrate its hundred years in the year 2025. In the year 2022, the country will complete 75 years of independence . This is a great time. It is time to take a pledge in this regard, he said.
