Los Angeles 5 June: George Floyd (46) who was brutally killed by policemen in Washington last week, was paid a final tribute by family and friends who turned up in large numbers at a Memorial Service at Minneapolis Church on Thursday. His mother, brother and other relatives appealed for justice for Floyd. They said that George Floyd was murdered because of racism and hatred and discrimination towards the black community. Those present in the service stood for 8.46 minutes to pay tribute to him. Region’s senator, state governor, mayor, comedian Kevin Hart, Colin Jackson and actor Tiffany Haddish were present there.

George Floyd was cremated at a park at North Central University. Representative of the African American community, Reverend Al Sharpton, was also present there. He said that from now on it will not be possible for police personnel to torture black people. Be it the education or health services, discrimination will not be tolerated.

He announced that he would appeal to blacks, whites, Latino or Asians that they should be ready to get freedom from racial bias at a rally in Washington DC on August 24 in memory of black leader Martin Luther King, who fought a major battle against racism. George’s younger brother Philonise said he had spent days in poverty, but did not harm anyone. He needs justice for his brother’s murder, he said.
