Bollywood Music Composer Wajid Khan dies at 42.
Mumbai, 01/06/2020 (H.S.) After Irfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, Bollywood once again woke up to the shocking news of another untimely demise of one of their members and a popular face. Music composer Wajid Khan, of the famous duo Sajid – Wajid, died on (Monday) early morning, 1 June, due to cardiac arrest at a Mumbai hospital. He was suffering from kidney ailments for the last couple of months and reportedly had also gone through a transplant. Celebrities and Politicians , including the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, expressed grief on Twitter. Deshmukh tweeted, Saddened to hear of music composer Wajid Khan – of the Sajid – Wajid duo – passing on. Such a talented life cut short so tragically. My deepest condolences. May the Almighty give his family, friends & fans the fortitude to bear this loss (sic).
It was also reported, though not confirmed, that Wajid was detected Covid 19 positive and was under treatment for that as well. This was even speculated on social media that he was detected Covid positive. The composer duo of Sajid – Wajid was said to be close to film actor Salman Khan and had composed music to several of his films. Their chartbusters made them a household name with movies like Tumko Na Bhool Payenge (2002), Tere Naam (2003), partner (2007), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) etc.
Babul Supriyo, BJP leader and Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate change, also tweeted – Shocked to hear about the cruelly untimely demise of Wajid of the renowned composer duo of Sajid-Wajid. Incredible loss of a very very dear friend & a very very talented musical mind. A gr8 sport.
