Prime Minister arrives in Sri Lanka on final leg of his two nation tour
New Delhi, Colombo, June 09 (HS): “Deeply touched by the ceremonial welcome” in Colombo this morning, an elated Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India never forgets its friends when they are in need.
Modi arrived in Colombo today in the second and final leg of his two nation tour of Maldives and Sri Lanka.
After reaching the Colombo Airport, the Prime Minister, in a tweet, said that he is happy to be back in Sri Lanka, his third visit to the island nation in last four years.
Modi will hold talks with the Sri Lankan president Maithripala Sirisena. Leader of the opposition and the leaders of the Tamil National Alliance will also call on Prime Minister Modi.
Modi to offer prayers at Lord Venkateswara shrine
Modi will visit Tirumala and offer prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Andhra Pradesh, today. After concluding his Maldives and Sri Lanka tour, he will arrive at the Renigunta airport, near Tirupati this evening.
