I will keep fighting until i won gold for India in the Olympics: Mary Kom
New Delhi,01 April(HS): MC Mary Kom, who has won India six-time World Championship gold, said on Wednesday that her dream is to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics, and for that, she will try her best at the level.
Mary said she will keep fighting until she achieved her goal.
In a Facebook Live session for the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Mary said, “It was very difficult for me to qualify for the Olympics in the first place. My focus is to win gold for India at the Olympic Games. Even at this age, I am working hard.”
“There is no secret mantra to gain me in the World Championship or Olympics. I will keep fighting till I win the gold for India in the Olympics and I will not give up,” she added.
The Tokyo Olympics will now take place next year in 2021 from 23 July to 9 August due to the Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, about spending time in quarantine, Mary said, “Even though I am in quarantine, I am constantly preparing myself at home. I am trying to be as fit as I need to be. Sometimes it gets difficult, but I’m enjoying my time with my family.”
“I want the love and blessings of the country to fulfil my dream.”
It is noteworthy that, Mary won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics. While Mary did not qualify at the Rio Olympics 2016.
