Not Dhoni and Virat, Dada was more supported as a captain: Yuvraj
New Delhi,01 April(HS): Former India veteran middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh has said that as a captain, the support I got from Sourav Ganguly was not as much with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
During a conversation with a sports website, Yuvraj said that I have got a lot of support under the captaincy of Dada. He told that it is a difficult task to choose a choice between Dhoni and Ganguly. But still, I did not get the support of Dada from Dhoni and Virat. He told that he has a lot of memories with Dada and he supported him a lot till Dhoni was handed over the captaincy.
Yuvraj also said that Test cricket is not so important to the cricketers of the current generation and they prefer the IPL. Apart from this, he also said that today’s junior players do not give the kind of respect to their senior players as in their time.
Talking about his career, Yuvraj said, “When I came in the team, there was no IPL. I used to watch my heroes on the screen and then sit with them straight away. They taught me how to behave and I also respected them. “
Yuvraj has scored 8701 runs in 304 ODIs. He played a key role in India winning the 2011 World Cup and 2007 T20 World Cup. He was also awarded the Man of the Tournament at the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
