Bill Gates resigned as the board of directors of Microsoft
Washington, March 14 (HS): Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates has resigned from the Board of Directors. He submitted his resignation on Friday.
Gates (64) stopped participating in the company’s daily operations a decade ago. It is being said that he now wanted to give more time to social work.
Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella said that it was a great honor to work and learn with Bill. He founded the company with a passion for software and solving challenges.
He said Microsoft would continue to benefit from Bill Gates as an advisor. Gates will continue to work as a technical consultant. At the same time, Nadella also said that he was grateful for Bill’s friendship and wanted to continue working with him.
It is notable that Bill Gates stepped down as CEO in 2000 and handed over the reins of the company to Steve Balmer. He also left the post of chairman. In 2014, Sathya Nadella became the third CEO of Microsopt Company.
