Coronavirus Outbreak: All the shops except food and medicine have been closed in Italy
Rome, 12 March (HS): Due to the fast spreading of Coronavirus in Italy, all the shops have been closed except that of food and medicines. So far 827 people infected with Coronavirus have died in Italy.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced that recently the restrictions have been imposed for the benefit of the people. He made this announcement in the prime time address to the nation.
An existing clampdown on public gathering and basic travel had already emptied streets and closed everything from churches to restaurants.
Keeping sanitation in mind, the workers of the sanitation department are busy spraying the streets wearing nylon suits and gloves.
People have been urged to get out of the house only for essential work, such as buying groceries, going to the doctor etc.
All retail outlets, coffee bars, pubs, restaurants and beauty salons have been announced to be closed and urged private sector companies to allow employees to take a break or work from home.
It is noteworthy that due to the deadly Coronavirus, a large number of people around the world are getting infected and dying. Many countries have also banned travel and trade.
