IAF Chief pays visit to Eastern Air Command Headquarters
Kolkata, 5 March (HS) Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria has emphasised the need for every member of IAF to ‘concentrate on operational training and operational readiness tailored towards quick and effective response to a rapidly changing threat scenario’.
Addressing the Annual Commanders’ Conference at the Eastern Air Command (EAC) headquarters at Shillong today, Air Chief Marshal congratulated the Eastern Air Command for completion of 60 years of ‘glorious service to the nation’ and highlighted the operational importance of the Air Command at the present critical global political environment.
Apart from addressing the Commanders the Chief of Air Staff awarded trophies to several of them for achieving excellence in the fields of Operations, Maintenance and Administration, Official reports reaching here this afternoon said.
Air Force Station Tezpur was awarded the trophy of ‘Best Flying Station – Pride of EAC’, while Air Force Station Laitkor Peak was declared the ‘Best Non-Flying Station’, the report said adding among others Air Marshal R D Mathur, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, EAC was present at the meeting.
During his two day visit to the EAC, Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria was accompanied by his wife,who is also the President of the Indian Air Force Women Welfare Association(AFWWA) who interacted with the wives of Defence Service Corps personnel during a separate meeting.
