2 positive cases of coronavirus in Pakistan declares a national emergency

Islamabad , Feb 28 (HS): Pakistan has also not remained untouched by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). At least two case positives have been found in the country’s capital Islamabad and Sindh province capital Karachi. Health officials of Pakistan said that both these men have returned from Iran. Dr. Mirza said, “I confirm the first two cases of coronavirus in Pakistan. In both cases, care is being taken under clinical standard protocols and the condition of both are reported stable. ”

The first person found positive by the deadly virus has been identified as Syed Muhammad Yahya Jafri. Jafri, 22, from Karachi, went to Mashad and Tehran in Iran. Jafri returned to Pakistan last week.

Miran Yusuf, a spokesperson for Sindh’s Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechhuho, said, “Jafri returned to Karachi from Iran by plane. Jafri and his family have been kept under medical supervision. Apart from this, all the passengers who were with Jafri are being  re-checked

The second person found positive in Islamabad is a resident of Gilgit Baltistan. This person was also found positive in the Coronavirus test after returning from Iran.

An official of ‘National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination’ said, “This patient above 50 years of age is undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of PIMS. The condition of both positive patients in Karachi and Islamabad is stable. ”

Pakistan government has announced an emergency after the country found two positive cases. All educational institutions in Sindh and Balochistan have been closed.

The government has appealed to the people to maintain calm and restraint. Locals are apprehensive about the reports of an increasing number of suspects from different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, there are reports that pharmaceutical companies and medical stores have started charging higher prices for masks and other devices.
