Ind vs NZ: Rahane, Vihari stood tall to take India 144/4 at the end of day 3
New Delhi, Feb 23 (HS): India ended up day 3, scoring 144 runs for the loss of four wickets in the First Test match against New Zealand. The Kiwis are still ahead by 39 runs. Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari survives the last session, scoring 25 and 15 runs respectively.
Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli failed to get a big score despite getting starts. Mayank Agarwal scored his fourth Test half-century but was dismissed soon by Tim Southee. Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand, finishing the day with figures of three for 27.
Tim Southee become the first bowler to pick 300 wickets in Tests, ODIs and T20Is combined in New Zealand after he dismissed Mayank Agarwal in the third session.
Earlier, India bowled out New Zealand for 348. The Blackcaps ended the first innings with a lead of 183 runs. Ishant Sharma took 5 wickets for 68 runs and completed his 11th five-wicket haul of his Test career. While, Ravi Ashwin took three and Bumrah, Shami got one wicket each.
