Modi bats for local products
Varanasi, February 16 (HS) Pushing for development and stressing on purchase of local products, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked people to prefer them to cut down imports.
Addressing sants and others at Jangamwadi Math, he said, his aim was to make a new India and this goal would not be achieved without it.Sants have played a major role in cleaning ganga and other such projects.They can play a big role in this respect too.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediurappa, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel were among those present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister who arrived this morning has a busy schedule. Besides unveiling the statue of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and flagging off a new express train he will lay foundation or inaugurate about 50 schemes worth over Rs 1200 crores.
He said the government alone cannot achieve the new India objective. Every citizen has to come forward and contribute. One of the government’s mission was to provide drinking water to all. “I want India to be Sukha Mukt (drought free) and Jal Yukt ( water in plenty). It is not an impossible task. What is required is whole-hearted participation of people “, he said.
Laying emphasis on timely completion of projects, the Prime Minister said, schemes worth Rs 20000 crores were completed in last five years.Some other projects worth Rs 21,000 projects are under various stages of completion.
Referring to recent developments, he said, the government has fulfilled a long pending demand by creating a trust for construction of Ram temple.Sants from all parts of the country are members of the Trust.About 67.5 acres of land acquired in Ayodhya will be transferred to the Trust for construction of the temple.
