Amit Shah meets Union Ministers, Kashmir issue takes forefront
New Delhi, June 4 (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held an important meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharati also arrived at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to meet Shah discussing about Kashmir issue being at the forefront, according to sources confirmed by leading media source.
Kashmir has been a major focus area for the former BJP President in view of the promises made by the saffron party’s reiterated stand in the poll manifesto such as Abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A of the Constitution.
The Centre’s robust anti-terror policy in Kashmir is likely to be continued under the formation of the new government.
Another focus area for chairing this meeting by top Union Ministers with Shah is to strengthen the security establishment ensuring that Pulwama like terrorist attacks especially in Jammu & Kashmir do not recur.
It is noteworthy that earlier, on June 1, taking charge as the Home Minister, Amit Shah held a meeting with the MHA officials to discuss the national security.
