Patna,4 June(HS):Iftar politics has added fuel to the fire  following the denial of proportional representation to JDU in the union cabinet.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar had immediately  applied Tit for Tat for  the BJP,a partner in the Grand Alliance by not giving a berth to it when he expanded the state cabinet and added more ministers from JDU quota.
The simmering differences between the JDU and the BJP  was further evident when the chief minister did not attend the Iftar party hosted by his deputy,Sushil Kumar Modi on behalf of BJP and the BJP reciprocrated by not attending the Iftar hosted by the  JDU.
Chief minister visited the residences of the LJP president and union minister,Ram, Vilas Paswan ahd the HAM(S) president and former chief minister,Jeetan ram Manjhi to attend the Iftar parties.Sushil Kumar Modi was present at the Iftar party hosted by Paswan and sat next to the union minister. When Jeetan ram manjhi extended his arms to greet Nitish Kumar,he asked him” Let us embrace each other, why  shaking of hands only”.The warmth between the two  surprised every one present as Nitish Kumar did not extend the same gesture to  Sushil Kumar Modi.Eye witnesses claimed Nitish even did not wish him.
Later,at another Iftar party hosted by the former chief minister,Rabri devi at her 10,Circular Road residence,Manjhi and Rabri both responded to the questions of the media  persons and said Nitish was welcomed in Grand Alliance.”A decision on entry of Nitish Kumar into Grand Alliance will be taken by the GA leaders”,they said.
Fire was further added on Tuesday, when the union minister and fire-brand BJP leader,Giriraj Singh while releasing four photos of the Iftar parties where Nitish Kumar was present, commented through his tweets” During the Navratra festival too, such parties with fruits have been organised.”.This invited instant comments from the JDU spokesman,Sanjay kumar Singh, who said ” This kind of the statement is coming from the man who claimed Ram Temple would be cosntructed, but not telling when”.
Political experts recalled in June,2017,Nitish kumar had attended an Iftar party at the residence of RJD president,Lalu Prasad  and was sitting between the speaker of Vidhan sabha,Vijay Kumar Chaudhry and Lalu, but did not exchange a word with Lalu.A month later,he snapped ties with the RJD and joined hands with BJP to form another government of NDA.
