Communal clashes in Bhainsa town: Eleven injured, houses burnt .
Telangana : Nirmal: January 13: (H.S) Two groups of people clashed in Bhainsa town of Nirmal district around 2 AM late in the night on Sunday, January 12. According to reports a section of people chased a two-wheeler vehicle lifter and thrashed him which led to free for all.
The other section indulged in stone-pelting and in the melee District Superintendent of Police C. Shashidhar Raju and Bhainsa CI Venugopal Rao received minor injuries in the violence and were being treated at a local hospital. Eleven houses,24 Two-wheelers, one car, two autos were set on fire by the rampaging mob.
According to reports, both sections hurled stones at each other at the Korbagalli locality in Bhainsa. Instances of arson were also reported in other parts of town. Police have sent reinforcements and the situation is believed to be under control when the reports last came in.
District Collector Prashanati and Superintendent of Police Shashaidar Raju are camping in Bhainsa town and keeping a watch. The internet services have been suspended until further notice. Bhainsa has been a communally sensitive area and it witnessed major clashes between two communities in 2008 where more than ten people died in communal clashes.
