We will protest but peacefully: AIMIM chief Owaisi
Hyderabad , Dec 20 (HS): The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi today said that his party was fully against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) but they will demonstrate peacefully after getting permission from the police. He said it while addressing a meeting of the United Muslim Action Committee that was held at the Head Office of AIMIM here today.
In this meeting, Asaduddin Owaisi said that they have to strongly oppose the law but with peace and harmony. “There were seen public violence followed by police brutality to disperse the mob in Lucknow, Delhi, Mangaluru where two people died. If violence happens, we will condemn it and separate ourselves from it,” said Owaisi condemning the violence spread across the country.
In Lucknow, clashes took place between police and violent mob who arson and pelted stones at the police party at many places. The protesters attacked police posts, arson the police vehicles, many media vehicles. One protester was killed in this violent clash, while two others were injured. Apart from this, 16 policemen were also injured in this violent clash.
