Greta Thunberg honored as Time Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’

New Delhi, Dec 12 (HS): World’s prestigious Time magazine has announced a 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg as the ” Person of the Year. Magazine published her picture on its cover page.

Greta Thunberg rocked the world by raising the issue of climate change with full fervor. He took to the streets and demonstrated and made a speech against select countries at the United Nations, forcing everyone to listen to her. After being given the honor, Greta Thunberg said that we cannot live simply by saying that there is no tomorrow because there is tomorrow.

Greta Thunberg first came into discussion in 2015. In August 2018, at the age of 15, she took leave from school to perform outside the Swedish Parliament. As soon as the children came to know about this, they too joined her. She had said that the big countries of the world are not stopping carbon emissions,  due to which the issue of climate change is becoming serious. It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin also commented on Greta Thunberg’s speech.
