Alleges, a handful of miscreants has been creating trouble in this otherwise peaceful Bengal
Naihati (North 24 Parganas)/ Kolkata, May 30 (HS): Spitting venom against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP once again after a few days lull, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee here today reiterated her commitment to win back the Barrackpore seat for her party Trinamool Congress ‘once again at the earliest opportunity’.
Expressing her extreme anger and hate against BJP and repeatedly stating that Bengal was not Gujarat by any yardstick, the Chief Minister who came to Naihati to attend a sit in dharna to protest the week long violence in parts of this district, without naming the new BJP MP from Barrackpore Arjun Singh, said under his leadership a handful of miscreants had been creating trouble in this otherwise peaceful state of Bengal.
She also blamed BJP and its leaders for allegedly trying to divide the state on communal line and made it clear that under no circumstances she would allow such thing to happen and would take stringent action against all criminals.
‘I am a different kind of person and is not afraid of anyone’, she said and once again blamed BJP and its leaders to allegedly fomenting trouble. ‘I will not allow anyone to take law into their own hands’, she said at the top of her voice from the dias.
Repeatedly blaming BJP and its supporters ‘entirely responsible’ for the week long violence in Naihati, Barrackpore, Bhatpara and Kancharapara areas in which several houses and shops were burnt, property destroyed and over 25 people suffered injuries, the Chief Minister directed the Director Of West Bengal Police, who was made to be present there, to issue arrest warrant against each of them within the next 48 hours before taking the stringent legal and administrative action against each of them.
In this connection she also displayed a piece of small paper reportedly containing the names of each of these perpetrators, and claimed that they belonged to BJP and the supporters of the new BJP MP who must be arrested and put behind bars.
She also blamed even the Prime Minister who is yet to take his oath for the second time in New Delhi, and other BJP leaders for allegedly instigating violence and that too against the minority community in the locality.
The Chief Minister also repeatedly made it clear that how much she hated BJP. ‘I hate BJP from the core of my heart’, she reiterated and spate the ugliest of venom against the party at every other second.
Claiming that TMC candidate from Barrackpore Dinesh Trivedi, who lost by a slender margin to Singh was ‘forced to give up his seat’, the Chief Minister reaffirmed her commitment to take back the seat once again by any means, and announced the formation of two separate resistance groups of both men and women in Barrackpore area.
She said while the women resistant groups would be known as ‘Banga Janani Bahini’ and the same for menfolk would be called ‘Jai Hind Bahini’ with specific dress code for both the women and men.
Earlier, while she was on way to the Dharna March, some people shouted ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogan forcing the Chief Minister to get down from her car and challenged those people to come forward. She also ordered the accompanying DGP and police officials to arrest these people.
