Sadhvi Pragya begs pardon in Lok Sabha for Godse episode

New Delhi , Nov 29 (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Bhopal Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur has apologized in the Lok Sabha for the second time within three hours. On Friday, the opposition created a furor over the statement describing Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse as a patriot, after which Pragya Thakur apologized on Friday. In the Lok Sabha, She said that I did not call Nathuram Godse a patriot, yet I apologize if anyone hurts me.

Sadhvi Pragya again apologized, saying…… I did not call Nathuram Godse a patriot during the discussion on SPG Bill on 27/11/2019, yet I am sorry if anyone has regretted my statement.

Earlier, at 12 noon Lok Sabha Sadhvi Pragya had apologized but despite that, the opposition created a ruckus. After which the Lok Sabha speaker called an all-party the meeting, in which it was decided that Sadhvi Pragya will apologize in the House again.

Sadhvi Pragya apologized for her statement in the Lok Sabha, but with this, she also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi without naming him. There was a dispute. Sadhvi Pragya said in her statement, ‘If I have been hurt by the comment made by me in the past, I apologize by expressing regret. But I also want to say that my statements have been distorted in Parliament, I had something else to say that has been misrepresented.

Thakur Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur said, ‘I respect Mahatma Gandhi’s service to the country. But I want to remind the House that I have been publicly called a terrorist by an honorable member of this House, despite the conspiracy hatched by the then government, no charge has been proved until I am convicted by the court. It is against the law to call me a terrorist.

The BJP MP said, ‘There has been an attempt to humiliate me by attacking my honor as a Sanyasi, as an MP, as a woman, as a woman, without mentioning any allegations. Being a woman, mentally, physically harassed me by the then government.

After this, a ruckus has started in the Lok Sabha on the statement of Sadhvi Pragya. Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, objected to Sadhvi’s statement and said that she did not apologize properly. After Sadhvi’s statement, slogans of ‘Down Down Godse’ were also raised in the House.

The Central government took action against Sadhvi Pragya in the Lok Sabha for calling Nathuram Godse a patriot. Sadhvi Pragya was expelled from the committee of the Ministry of Defense. Apart from this, Sadhvi Pragya was banned from coming to the parliamentary party meeting on behalf of BJP. On Friday morning, Sadhvi Pragya met BJP Executive President JP Nadda.
