Samsung to recruit 1200 engineers in India this year
New Delhi, Nov 28 (HS): Samsung India has given good news in the period of slowdown in economy and job layoffs. Samsung India has said that it is preparing to hire more than 1,200 engineers from top institutes like IITs and BITS Pilani this year. Samsung India is making this effort to create a strong R&D (R&D) pool and create a Make in India product for both domestic and global markets.
Samsung has shown commitment to appoint 2,500 engineers for R&D in India and under this, the company is going to recruit it.Last year, the South Korean giant hired one thousand engineers from top engineering colleges including IITs, NITs and IIITs. This includes new-age domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning (ML), biometrics, neutral language processing (NLP), augmented reality (AR) and working on networks including 5-G. Being stressed.
Samsung India has three R&D centers in the country, located in Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi. Samsung India HR head Sameer Wadhawan told us that ‘In December 2017, we talked about our commitment to hiring 2,500 engineers in India by 2020. We hired one thousand engineers in 2018 and are also ready to hire more than 1,200 engineers in 2019. Samsung India is well on track to fulfill its commitment.
He said, ‘We currently, have over 70,000 people working in total and if we talk specifically about R&D centers, we have 9,000 people working in our three centers’.Samsung is recruiting in top engineering colleges like all the major IITs, including the newly opened IIT Tirupati. Sameer said, “We are also recruiting from NIT, BITS Pilani, Delhi Institute of Technology, Manipal Institute of Technology and IIIT.” India has the largest number of R&D engineers outside Samsung’s South Korea headquarters.
