Women’s rights activist Trupti Desai reaches Kochi to offer prayer
Kochi,Nov 26 (HS): Women rights activist Trupti Desai from Maharashtra reached Kochi Airport in Kerala on Tuesday morning to enter the Sabarimala Temple. Meanwhile, news has come that outside the Kochi commissioner’s office, Tripti Desai was attacked last year at Bindu Ammini, who visited the Sabarimala temple. Bindu Ammini has alleged that an attempt was made to pour chilli powder on him outside the commissioner’s office.
While leaving from Kochi Airport, Bhoomata Brigade founder Trupti Desai said, “If anyone tries to stop us, we will file an appeal considering it as contempt of court.” These women said that they will demand protection from the police to visit the temple.
It is said that Trupti Desai was taken to the Kochi Commissioner office after reaching Kochi Airport. Meanwhile, some people already present in the commissioner’s office got into an argument with Ammini. Bindu has alleged that chilli powder has been thrown over there. Bindu Ammini has also shot a video of this entire scene. She has alleged that the person who sprinkled chilli powder on her is being protected but they are not getting security.
Significantly, the two-month festival of Sabarimala has started formally last week. Thousands of devotees have started reaching Sabarimala to have Ayyappa darshan. On November 16, the door of the Sabarimala temple was opened for the Mandal Puja festival. In 2018, the Supreme Court had allowed women of all ages to enter the temple. However, a review petition was filed on this decision, on which the Supreme Court, while hearing it, sent it to a large bench of 7 judges.
