Two MPs from Bengal may get berths in union cabinet

Raigunj (North Dinajpur)/ Kolkata, May.30 (HS): Deboshree Chowdhury, the 47 year old firebrand  BJP leader and one of the state General Secretaries of the party, who defeated Mohammad Salim, the heavyweight CPI- M candidate from Raijunj Lok Sabha constituency has received a telephone call from Party President Amit Shah today for a possible place in the Union Cabinet this evening.
‘Yes  Amit Shah Ji  called me this morning and asked me to be present at the important meeting with the Prime minister at the PM’s official residence at 4-30 p.m.and be prepared for taking the oath of office and secrecy at the Rashtrapati Bhavan ‘, a similing Chowdhury, who also defeated Congress candidate Deepa Das Munshi among others in a multi cornered fight in the constituency, said when asked about the possibility of her becoming a union minister tonight.
Refusing to disclose further details of her conversation with Amit Shah today, she however, made it clear that if asked, she would take the oath of office and secrecy from President Ramnath Kovind in her mother tongue in Bengali.
On whether the party President approved her decision, she replied in the positive and recalled that  Amit Shah had promised to the people of Raigunj (constituency) during his electioneering there earlier this month that if Chowdhury was elected by them, she would be made a minister to ensure a speedy all round development of this sleepy North Bengal town, about 250 km from Kolkata, in North Dinajpur district.
Asked to send a message to the people of her constituency before leaving from the Prime minister’s residence, she assured them of her maximum and all out efforts for their all round development. ‘Dont worry I coming to you soon’, she said with full confidence.
Meanwhile, according to senior BJP sources here, along with Deboshree Chowdhury, another winning candidate of the party Babul Supriya from Asansol, who was also minister in the first Modi cabinet, also received a call from the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO) and had been asked to be present at the meeting with the Prime minister and others before taking oath of the new ministry.
