A large number of women are taking advantage of this scheme of Kejriwal government
New Delhi, Nov 21(HS): The number of women passengers has increased by 10 percent since the Delhi government waived fare for women and girls in DTC and Cluster bus. According to the figures of the Delhi government, 22 days after the launch of the scheme, the number of women traveling in the bus has increased by 10 percent.
On the first day or before the plan, 33 percent of women used to travel in DTC and cluster buses, but since the implementation of the scheme, the number of women passengers in DTC and cluster buses has gone up to 44 percent. This means that the number of female passengers has increased by 10 percent. This calculation has been done on the basis of a pink ticket of ten rupees.
In Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made the travel of women in DTC and cluster buses free. This scheme is applicable from 29 October in Delhi. According to the data, the number of female passengers in Delhi on November 19 was 42 percent. The Kejriwal government in Delhi had started this scheme to ensure the safety of women and girls and to facilitate jobs and education-related opportunities.
