Ayodhya Verdict: Home Minister Amit Shah reviews the security situation across the country

New Delhi, Nov 09 (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday reviewed the security arrangements across the country in the wake of the Supreme Court’s the decision to maintain the supreme harmony on the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid ownership issue. 

Shah has appealed to everyone that, whatever the decision of the Supreme Court, everyone should welcome this decision and maintain peace.

Officials said that the Home Minister also spoke to some Chief Ministers and took information from them about the state of their states. Shah asked them to ensure that the police and administration remain alert and no untoward incident takes place. Police have made strict arrangements in view of security everywhere.

A Home Ministry official said that in the review meeting, the Home Minister was given detailed information about the current law and order situation in different parts of the country, especially Uttar Pradesh. In view of the Supreme Court’s decision on Ayodhya, all school colleges, educational institutions, training centers in Uttar Pradesh have been closed till November 11.

Home Minister Amit Shah called a high-level security meeting at his residence. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau (IB) Chief, Arvind Kumar and other senior officials to attend the meeting.

There is nothing untoward in the imprudent decision, so Shah also spoke to some chief ministers who apprised him of the steps being taken to ensure peace.
