Madras, Oct 23(HS): Newly appointed BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday promised a corruption-free tenure and said he would lead the world’s richest cricket institution in the same way that he captained the Indian team.
Ganguly told the media while officially holding the post as BCCI President at the General Assembly meeting here, “There is no compromise on credibility and corruption-free tenure.” I will take the post of BCCI the way I led India.
On Dhoni’s retirement, Sourav Ganguly said – champions do not end, till I am. He became the 39th BCCI President of Mumbai. He was elected unopposed for nine months here. Ganguly started his preferences and said that he will meet the current captain Virat Kohli on Thursday.
Asked about talking to Kohli, Ganguly said, ‘Virat Kohli is the most important person in Indian cricket and we will listen to him. There will be respect and respect for each other.
He said, ‘I will talk to Virat Kohli on Thursday, we will support him in every possible way, whatever he wants.’ Asked about speculation about the future of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ganguly said, “The champions do not finish so soon. As long as I am there, everyone will be respected.
