Modi–Macron talks in Mumbai put Defence and AI Cooperation in spotlight
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron met in Mumbai today as India and France pushed for deeper strategic ties. The meeting marked a key moment in Macron’s three-day official visit to India, which focuses on artificial intelligence, defence, and innovation.
First, Prime Minister Modi welcomed Macron with a public message on social media. He called the visit an opportunity to give “new momentum” to the partnership. Later in the evening, the leaders launched the India–France Year of Innovation 2026. They met entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors. They promoted technology-driven growth. They urged private companies to invest in joint ventures.
