Missing MBA student found dead in Indore flat, police probe extortion and murder angle
An MBA student, missing for two days, was found dead inside a rented house in Indore on Friday. The discovery has shocked residents and raised serious concerns about safety and digital abuse.
According to police, the 24-year-old woman pursued a Master of Business Administration degree at a local college. She left home on February 11, saying she would attend a birthday party. However, she never returned. As a result, her family filed a missing person complaint.
Meanwhile, residents in the Dwarkapuri area noticed a foul smell coming from a locked house. Therefore, they alerted the police. Officers reached the spot and forced the door open. Inside, they found the woman’s naked body lying on the floor.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shri Krishna Lalchandani confirmed the recovery. He told Press Trust of India that the woman appeared to have died due to strangulation. He added that doctors would confirm the exact cause after the post-mortem.
Investigators believe the murder happened around the time she went missing. Accordingly, they focused on her close contacts. Soon, suspicion fell on her male classmate, who reportedly had a romantic relationship with her.
Police said the man lived in a rented house in Indore and hailed from Mandsaur. After the incident, he disappeared. Since then, officers have treated him as the prime suspect. Teams have launched search operations to track him.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father shared disturbing details. He told police that the suspect had pressured his daughter for money. He also claimed that the man threatened to leak her private photos if she refused.
