Jaipur, Oct.23(HS):  On Wednesday, there will be ‘No Sale, No Purchase of Petrol and diesel in Jaipur’ i.e. Strike at about 4,500 thousand petrol pumps across the state.

The reason is, higher VAT in Rajasthan than other states, the consumption of petrol and diesel is to be reduced. Petrol pumps will remain closed for 24 hours on Wednesday from 6 am to 6 am on Thursday, with a demand to reduce VAT.

The VAT rate is higher in Rajasthan, Sunit Bagai, president of the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, said that the VAT rate is higher in Rajasthan than in other states. While the prices of petrol diesel are very low in the surrounding states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and UP. Petrol and diesel in border areas Due to the difference in the rate, people go across the border and fill petrol diesel. Comparing the prices of petrol and diesel from neighboring states, it is 5 to 9 rupees more in Rajasthan.

But the government system is not ready to listen to the dealers.

According to Bagai, the sale of one pump in neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana, UP, Gujarat and Delhi has become equal to 20 pumps in our state. Every day millions of liters of diesel are imports to our state from neighboring states through smuggling. In protest, around 4,500 petrol pumps will be closed on Wednesday in the entire state. Sales of the state have been greatly affected by the government increasing VAT on petrol diesel by 4 percent.

Emergency vehicles will only be given Motorists coming from other states and going to other states from our country to get petrol and diesel filled in the neighboring states. Due to this, the government, including the control-pump owners, is suffering a lot. Due to the huge difference in VAT, the government has lost 85 crore in August and 37 crore in September. Bagai said that on Wednesday, only emergency vehicles like fire, ambulance, and other vehicles will be supplied to petrol and diesel.
