Mohali – Punjabi–Bollywood singer and composer B Praak has come under threat after a caller claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang demanded Rs 10 crore and issued a death warning. Police in Mohali have started a probe after a formal complaint reached senior officers.

First, the contact surfaced on January 5. The caller rang Dilnoor, a Punjabi singer closely associated with B Praak. Dilnoor missed that call. Next day, another call arrived from an international number. Dilnoor answered briefly. However, he sensed danger and disconnected immediately. Soon after, a voice message landed from the same number.

In that audio, the caller introduced himself as Arju Bishnoi. He directly demanded Rs 10 crore from B Praak. He also issued a one-week deadline. Furthermore, he warned that the singer would face deadly consequences if the demand went unmet. The caller threatened harm to anyone linked to B Praak. He even claimed the gang would track associates across countries. Finally, he ended the message with a chilling warning that they would “reduce him to dust”.

After hearing the threat, Dilnoor moved quickly. He compiled details and approached Mohali police. Then, he filed a written complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police. Investigators collected the voice clip as primary evidence. Now, cyber teams have begun tracing the origin of the foreign number.

Police confirmed they have taken the matter seriously. Officers have started verifying whether the caller truly belongs to the Bishnoi network. At the same time, they are checking international routing and digital footprints. Sources say police may involve central agencies if the trail crosses borders.

Meanwhile, security concerns around celebrities have grown in Punjab and Mumbai in recent years. Earlier, several public figures reported extortion attempts in the name of the Bishnoi gang. Authorities believe criminal groups often target high-profile names to gain publicity and fear leverage. Therefore, police are treating this threat as both a criminal and security matter.

B Praak remains one of the most influential voices in contemporary Punjabi and Hindi music. He first gained fame as a composer and producer. Later, he rose as a playback singer with emotional hits. His breakthrough track Mann Bharrya brought national recognition. Since then, he has delivered chart-topping songs in films and independent music.

Additionally, his partnership with lyricist Jaani strengthened his career. Together, they produced multiple popular tracks across languages. Their work shaped modern Punjabi pop and Bollywood romantic music.

For now, police continue technical analysis and call tracking. Officials aim to identify the suspect and assess the credibility of the threat. They also plan protective measures if required. The investigation remains active as authorities push to prevent any escalation.
