Islamabad – Adiala Jail officials on Wednesday dismissed rumours about former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s death. Authorities confirmed he remains in good health and receives full medical attention. The reports suggesting his transfer or demise are “baseless,” Geo News quoted prison officials.

The speculation gained momentum after Imran Khan’s three sisters demanded an impartial investigation into a police action that targeted them and PTI supporters outside the prison last week. Social media accounts spread unverified claims, with some alleging that Khan had been “murdered” and his body moved out of the jail. A handle named ‘Afghanistan Times’ claimed credible sources confirmed the former PM’s death. However, no official agency has verified these reports.

Imran Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023 in multiple cases. The government imposed an undeclared restriction on meetings with him for over a month. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi reportedly failed to meet Khan despite seven consecutive attempts.

The three sisters—Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr. Uzma Khan—protested outside Adiala Jail, citing concerns about his health. In a letter to Punjab Police Chief Usman Anwar, they described the police response as “brutal and orchestrated.” Noreen Niazi said officers attacked them without provocation. She recounted being seized by her hair, thrown to the ground, and dragged across the road, sustaining visible injuries. Other women present were reportedly slapped and manhandled.

PTI urged the government to facilitate immediate family access to Khan. The party also demanded clarity amid the widespread social media rumours. Officials reiterated that the former PM receives complete medical care, and no transfer has taken place.

Adiala Jail’s statement stressed that all claims about Khan’s condition are false. Authorities continue to monitor his health, ensuring his safety within the prison premises. Despite repeated attempts by political figures and family members to meet him, the restrictions remain in place.

Observers note that the rumours highlight rising tensions between the government and PTI supporters. Political unrest outside the jail underscores broader public concern for Khan’s well-being. Meanwhile, social media continues to circulate conflicting narratives, often without verification.

In short, Imran Khan remains alive and well in Adiala Jail. Officials have strongly denied all claims of his death or transfer. The prison continues to provide medical care and security, and PTI calls for immediate family access to maintain transparency.

The situation remains tense as authorities manage protests, social media speculation, and political pressures surrounding the former Prime Minister.
