Sheohar/Sitamarhi, Bihar – Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday unveiled a bold development vision for Bihar ahead of the assembly polls. Addressing rallies in Sheohar and Sitamarhi, he said the NDA would build a defence corridor and open factories in every district if voted to power.

Shah projected complete confidence in the NDA’s victory. “The RJD-Congress alliance will be wiped out by 1 pm on November 14,” he declared, referring to the counting day.

He said Bihar has suffered from floods since the time of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya. “From Chandragupta to Modi, the Gandak, Koshi, and Ganga rivers have flooded the state. The NDA will create a special commission to make Bihar flood-free,” he said.

Shah said the government would use the waters of the Koshi river to irrigate 50,000 hectares in the Mithilanchal region. He announced plans to establish a defence corridor and set up MSME and industrial parks to generate jobs. “We will also launch the Vande Bharat train from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya on the consecration day of the Sita temple,” he said.

The Home Minister performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the ₹850-crore Sita temple at Punaura Dham. He said, “This project will boost religious tourism and local employment.”

Taking aim at the Congress, Shah said, “Earlier, terrorists were treated to biryani. Today, under Modi’s leadership, India strikes back.” He referred to Operation Sindoor, launched within ten days of the Pahalgam attack, as proof of India’s new security resolve.

He linked Bihar’s proposed defence corridor to the nation’s security efforts. “Explosives made in Bihar’s factories will be used in future operations against Pakistan,” he said.

Shah also promised to turn Mithilanchal into a global knowledge hub with a ₹500-crore investment. He said the government would build the Sitamarhi-Ayodhya Ramjanaki Path for ₹550 crore and double the Ayodhya-Sitamarhi rail line at a cost of ₹5,000 crore.

He said NDA plans to upgrade airports in Patna, Darbhanga, Purnea, and Bhagalpur to global standards. “Each district will also have a medical college,” he added.

Highlighting the Centre’s support for Bihar, Shah said, “Prime Minister Modi gave ₹18.70 lakh crore to Bihar in ten years. The RJD-Congress government gave only ₹2.80 lakh crore.”

He accused RJD leader Lalu Prasad of corruption. “Lalu’s rule was full of scams. Only Modi and Nitish can ensure a developed Bihar,” Shah asserted.

He ended his speech with a promise to revive all closed sugar mills within 2.5 years. “Every mill will reopen. Every youth will get work,” he said.

Through sharp attacks and specific pledges, Shah positioned the NDA as Bihar’s only path to stability, industry, and self-reliance.
