Three cattle lifters lynched in Saran
Chapra, July.19 (HS): It was glaring example of taking law into hands and doing mob justice when three cattle lifters were, in the wee hours, were lynched by the agitated mob of villagers. The gruesome incident occurred at Pithauri Nand Tola under Baniyapur police station today.
Deceased were identified as Naushad Alam of village Paigambarpur, Raju Nut and Videsh Nut of Kanhauli Manohar village under the same police station. Sources said that all three had gone to the village with Pick Up van and were uploading the cattle.
Hearing the voices of the cattle, the house owner Buddha Ram and his wife woke up and started shouting alerting the villagers. The villagers assembled and started beating all the three with cane and stick which resulted into on the spot death of two, while the third succumbed on way to hospital.
SP Har Kishore Rai told that those were cattle lifters and villagers could not restrain themselves. It can not be termed as mob lynching, rather the fury of the people. Family members of the deceased alleged that villagers took law into their hands. Deceased had not gone for cattle lifting, but for purchasing cattle.
SP said that three persons have been arrested in this connection. FIRs from both sides are being lodged. Police are investigating the case from all angles.
In another incident, a sand Mafiya today resorted to violance and stones pelted the police party which had gone to conduct raids. One boat was also seized. The incident happened at Doriganj. SP told that in stone pelting, Doriganj SHO and one constable have sutained injuries. Two dozen persons have been arrested in this connection.
