MoD exposes Pak’s sham terror crackdown, shows reduction in Chinese cross-border disputes
New Delhi, July. 18 (HS): The Ministry of Defence (MoD) in its annual report on Thursday released by the Government of India (GoI) exposed the fact that Pakistan had avoided taking action against Jihadi and internationally proscribed terror outfits and groups that targeted countries neighbouring Pakistan.
In this annual report, the ministry has spoken about border terrorism, cross-border firing and Pakistan’s involvement in terror activities and also pointed the reduction in Chinese incursions along the borders with India.
The Ministry through its report stated that until Pakistan takes credible and irreversible steps to stop supporting terror groups and dismantling of terror infrastructure used to launch attacks against India, India would continue to take robust and decisive steps to ensuring to safeguard its own national security.
Terrorist groups were being continuously encouraged by the Pakistan military to infiltrate into India under the cover of massive cross-border firing in Jammu & Kashmir, triggering appropriate response from the Indian armed forces.
According to the annual report released by the Defence ministry, compared to last year, the number of face-offs and aggressive interactions during the Chinese transgressions by Chinese army had considerably reduced this year.
After the disengagement from the Doklam plateau by both India and China on August 28, 2017, the strength of Indian and Chinese troops had reduced in the territory located in Bhutan. The ministry added that the Indian Army was monitoring the Chinese activities in the area and is adequately prepared to respond to any contingency there.
The ministry also said that the February 14 Pulwama attack masterminded by Pakistan -based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) confirmed that India remains a persistent target of Pakistan’s policy of state sponsored cross-border terrorism.
