Modi directs MPs on development of their constituency

New Delhi, July. 16 (HS): Prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in  BJP’s Parliamentary party meeting directed its members of Parliament (MPs) to focus on  developing their constituencies more.
He also urged them to focus on animal welfare, take roaster duties in the Parliament seriously, work for the constituencies in more innovative ways and take up some humanitarian issue as a mission.
The saffron party’s meeting was held in the parliament building in New Delhi which was chaired by Prime minister Narendra Modi, Home minister Amit Shah among several  senior BJP leaders were also in attendance.
First impression is often the last impression, Modi told MPs, a large number of first-time lawmakers at the BJP parliamentary meet asking them to work passionately for the development of their own areas.
Speaking to media reporters, parliamentary affairs minister, Pralhad Joshi  said that  Modi asked the BJP MPs to nurse their constituency by playing a leading role in its development and advised them to take up a social issue or human sensitivity like the eradication of Leprosy or Tuberculosis as a mission  apart from carrying out their duties as members of Parliament.
Modi also invoked Mahatma Gandhi while speaking on eradication of diseases like Leprosy and TB.
Modi also asked the Union ministers to carry out their Parliament roster duty as a government representative meant  to be present in one of the Houses and said he must  be informed if they skip their duties, according to party sources.
Prime minister also referred to aspirational districts, an initiative launched by the Modi government and asked the parliamentarians to coordinate with the local authorities to boost their progress.
On July 14, BJP had issued a notice to its MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha informing them about the meeting and to be present in the parliamentary meeting  held today.
