Budget 2019: Measures to boost female entrepreneurship

New Delhi, July 5(HS): In the second term of the Modi government, the country’s first finance minister, Nirmala Sitaraman presented a general budget of 2019-20 in Parliament. Several special announcements were made from the lower classes to the upper class in the budget.
Finance Minister said that without the development of women the country can not be developed. The Finance Minister announced that over 5000 rupees overdraft facility will be given to the pregnant women account holders.
Apart from this, a separate currency loan of one lakh rupees will be given to women separately. He said that the government has arranged money to encourage women entrepreneurship through  stand-up India and self-help group (SHG).
Finance Minister announced that under stand-up India scheme, women entrepreneurs of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will be benefited. Apart from this, programs will be started on the TV channel .
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has increased the duty on gold from 10 per cent to 12.5 per cent. Its impact will be on the female category only.The government Friday proposed to increase import duty on gold and precious metal to 12.5 per cent, a move which would make the yellow metal and jewellery expensive in the domestic market. The imports in 2017-18, 2016-17 and 2015-16 were 955 tonne, 778 tonne and 968 tonne, respectively.
