67th All Indian Railway Table Tennis Championship inaugurated
Guwahati, July 3 (HS): The 67th All Indian Railway Table Tennis Championship was inaugurated today by the General Manager / N.F. Railway Sanjive Roy at the NFRSA Indoor Stadium, Maligaon.
While welcoming all the participants, General Manager hoped that such All India events will help in further sharpening the skills of players so that they can excel in International competitions. A total of 14 teams representing different zones of Indian Railways comprising of 116 sports persons are participating in the meet.
It may be mentioned here that, NFRSA (N. F. Railway Sports Association), Maligaon under active support from the RSPB (Railway Sports Promotion Board), New Delhi has been organizing various such All India Tournaments in various discipline with an aim to promote sports.
Many reputed National and International players are participating in this tournament. Some of them are Sagorika Mukherjee, India no-4 (Women) from N.F. Railway, Moumita Dutta of Metro Railway who got 7th rank in the recently concluded Youth Championship held at Croatia, Kaushani Nath of South Eastern Railway who played in the Thailand Open last month apart from Anirban Ghosh of South Eastern Railway & Shruti Amuthe of Central Railway who recently played in various championships at Belgium, Sweden etc.
