Volvo Car India records 11 per cent growth in sales
Kolkata, July 03 (HS): Despite the overall downtrend in the automobile sector, Volvo Car India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish Luxury car manufacturer, has registered a healthy 11 per cent growth in sales during the first half of 2019(January to June) when as many as 1159 units were sold against 1044 units sold during the same period of last year.
Contributions from Mini Metros and Tier-one towns coupled with a good demand for the SUV range aided the sales growth this year, company sources quoting Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, told Hindusthan Samachar here today.
According to Frump , this 11 per cent growth in sales so far, was more praiseworthy since the industry was not ‘looking positive’ at the current juncture.
‘Our brand engagement programs continues to play a crucial role in this performance’, he said adding even as the short term market performance looked tough, in all likelihood the automobile growth would bounce back soon to replicate the company’s sales performance of 2018.
Volvo Car India currently has a wide network of dealerships across the country including those in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR – South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Ludhiana.
