Kolkata, July 02 (HS): Well known artiste Subhaprasanna and  businessman Sivaji Panja, whose names have come up in connection with the Rs 30,000 crore Saradha Group Financial scam, which rocked the nation a few years ago, have been asked to appear before a CBI investigating team here today.
According to CBI sources here this afternoon  both the people, having close links with the ruling Trinamool Congress as well as with the Chief minister herself, had been asked to re appear jointly before an investigating team at CBI office within the next 24 hours to reply to some queries in connection with a painting exhibition in which both were involved.
They had been summoned following the receipts of some important documents mentioning their alleged involvement in the ponzi schemes of Saradha Groups well as as in that painting exhibition, the sources said.
It has been alleged that in that exhibition in the city a few years ago, several paintings of Chief minister Mamata Banerjee were allegedly sold at very high premium, sometimes at par with the best in the world raising several questions.
Though both Subhaprassana and Panja were questioned on the same issue by CBI, the long investigating agency appointed by the Supreme Court, once earlier to know the extent of their involvement in the purchasing deals, they did not turn up when they were asked to re appear once again before last Lok Sabha poll citing personal reasons.
Keeping this in mind and following the receipt of some new documents both have been summoned once again by CBI for further questioning on the issue of their alleged involvement in that massive financial scam by any mean, the sources added.
