A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad’s Habsiguda area on Monday night when a couple died by suicide after killing their two children. Police linked the deaths to financial distress and health issues.

Police discovered the bodies in separate rooms, while the children lay dead on the bed. Inspector N. Rajender of Osmania University police station said, “The incident occurred around 9:30 pm. We responded to a call from neighbors and launched an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the couple strangled their children before hanging themselves.”

Officers recovered a suicide note, allegedly written by the man, revealing financial struggles and serious health problems. “We have sent the bodies to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem and are continuing the investigation,” Rajender stated. Police registered a case of suspicious deaths.

The family, originally from Mukuralla village in Mahabubnagar district, moved to Habsiguda a year ago. The man, a former lecturer at a private college, had been unemployed for six months, worsening their financial troubles.

“The prolonged joblessness caused severe distress, which may have led to this tragic act,” Rajender said.

In his note, the man expressed despair over his failing career and declining health. “No one is responsible for my death. I had no other option but to end my life. Please forgive me. I have struggled in my career and suffered physically and mentally. I have been battling diabetes, nerve issues, and kidney disease,” he wrote in Telugu.

The police continue to investigate while the community reels from the devastating loss.
