Arms from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland behind increasing crime graph: Ex MP
Chapra/Goplaganj, June 28 (HS): Former MP Kali Prasad Pandey today in a press conference alleged that arms from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are playing crucial role in enhancement of crimes in the district. People are being shot at here and there, but recovery of arms is not there. Licences are also not being seized.
He said that he had written a letter to Home Minister during parliamentary elections raising this issue. Copies of the letter were given to DM and SP of Gopalganj and to the government of Bihar.
After this the DM had inquired about it and a list of names of licencees, who have obtained arms from those states, was also published. Order to seize arms and cancel the licences was also given, but till now, no action was taken regarding seizure and cancellation, he said.
Crimes are being committed in the district with the help of those weapons and his life , too, is in danger due to raising this issue. He said that brute murder of petrol pump owner at Bhore is glaring example of this. It is a matter of immediate inquiry and action he said.
