JP leaders intensified their attack on Rahul Gandhi after Donald Trump accused the Biden administration of meddling in India’s elections. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya alleged that Gandhi sought foreign intervention before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Trump, speaking at the FII PRIORITY Summit in Miami, questioned a $21 million US expenditure on India’s voter turnout. He hinted at an attempt to influence the elections, suggesting an agenda against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Malviya linked Trump’s statement to Gandhi’s 2023 London speech, where Gandhi urged the West to intervene in India’s democracy. Malviya accused Gandhi of aligning with global networks that undermine India’s interests.

BJP’s Goa unit also questioned Gandhi’s frequent visits to the US and UK, hinting at possible foreign backing. The party asked whether hidden forces were supporting him.

Trump’s claim follows the Department of Governance Efficiency’s (DOGE) decision to cancel the $21 million fund. Trump reiterated his stance, questioning why the US was funding India’s elections when India has a strong economy.

BJP leaders framed the issue as a foreign conspiracy, while Congress dismissed it as baseless political rhetoric.
